Angel Lights Candles started officially as a small business this year (2020). I began making candles as a hobby in 2003. In 2010, I started using and working with beeswax and immediately fell in love with it.
I love the nobility of beeswax. The benefits of using 100% pure beeswax in candle making are many. Created by bees in nature beeswax is environmentally friendly. Beeswax candles emit a wonderful and natural honey scent. They have an amazing glow and burn longer than regular candles. They are clean burning, smoke and soot-free, and are drip resistant.
From the moment you light a 100% beeswax candle, one can sense the energy around you improving. You can’t help but notice an uplift in one’s mood. As a candle burns, relaxation begins to set in and the stress of the day begins to melt away.
In 2014, I became a single mother of twins. I started selling the candles to a small circle of family and friends, to help offset the rising cost of raising my growing family, primarily my two little angels. This is how I came up with the name, because they are like Angel Lights in my life… just like these beautiful candles.
This year, I decided to move forward and start my candle store business online. My goal is to gradually expand my little business into something bigger. I hope to see it grow and prosper just like my little family.
The COVID-19 crisis of 2020 has made it very difficult for many to work away from home – myself included. My main priority in life is taking care of my family. With this in mind, I became motivated to launch my site and began working from home, closer to my family. I am starting this journey hopeful to achieve my goal of growing my business to provide for my family while doing something I love. Along the way, I also help other small businesses grow too. The label designs, logos and packing all came from local talents and suppliers. I am proud to have them help me make this dream come true.
